What's Covered

Three 4WD Servicing Jobs the Bench is Set Up For

Routine work, done properly. Bigger mechanical jobs outside scope get an honest referral rather than a hard sell.

📒

Routine 4X4 Servicing & Logbook Stamps

Manufacturer-specified servicing to the logbook schedule. Log-book stamped & signed along with a fresh windscreen service sticker so that you stay on track with your next service interval.

🧰

General 4WD Mechanical Repairs

Top-to-tail check before or after a serious trip. Fluids, suspension under load, brakes, battery state, recovery gear, tyres — the lot.

🚙

Servicing for Fleet Vehicles

Running multiple vehicles? Fleet servicing sits alongside the fitout side of the workshop — one operator, one invoice, one schedule.

MBC 4X4 Solutions provides routine 4X4 mechanical servicing, logbook stamping and pre-trip inspections in Bendigo and Central Victoria. Founder Mitchell Cox is a Certificate III qualified automotive mechanic with 15 years industry experience.

Certificate III Qualified

Serviced Properly. Logbook Stamped. Straight From The Mechanic.

Mitch is a Certificate III qualified automotive mechanic, so your 4WD gets serviced properly — to the manufacturer’s schedule, with fit-for-purpose oils, filters and parts. Logbook stamped. Fresh service sticker on the windscreen. And when the vehicle comes off the hoist, you’ll hear straight from the man who did the work — either it’s a clean bill of health, or there’s an honest list of what’s next and what it’ll cost. No service desk in between, no story passed through three people.

Pre-Trip Mechanical Inspection

Heading Bush? Get a 4WD Pre-Trip Inspection.

Birdsville, the Vic High Country, Cape York, the Simpson — wherever you’re pointed, find the problem in the workshop, don’t let it find you 600 kilometres from anywhere. A pre-trip check runs the vehicle through everything that matters before you load up.

Fluids & Filters

Engine oil, coolant, brake and clutch fluid, diff and transfer-case oil, fuel and air filters.

Suspension Under Load

Loaded ride height, bump-stop clearance, bushes, shocks and a check that the build matches the way you’re using it.

Dual Battery & 12V

Charge state, voltage under load, BCDC operation, wiring and fuse check — the install needs to actually work when you’re parked up.

Winch Operation

Powered in and out, free-spool, solenoid, rope or cable condition. A winch that hasn’t moved in twelve months is a winch that won’t.

Recovery Gear

Snatch straps, kinetic ropes, dampers, shackles, MaxTrax — date codes, wear and the gear actually being on board.

Tyres & Spare

Tread depth, sidewall condition, date codes, pressures and a spare that’s actually inflated and accessible.

Selective Scope

Honest About What's the Right Job for the Bench.

MBC is a one-bloke workshop, not a general garage. Routine 4WD servicing, logbook stamps and pre-trip inspections sit firmly inside scope. Bigger jobs outside that lane get a referral to a workshop that’s set up for them. Honest scope, honest answer — better for you, better for the vehicle.

Inside Scope

Outside Scope

If it’s outside the scope, you’ll be told straight on the phone — usually with the name of a workshop that does a job of that caliber. No charge for the honest answer.

SERVICE & MECHANICAL FAQ

Common Questions About 4X4 Servicing at MBC.

Straight answers to the questions Mitch gets asked most about servicing, warranty and pre-trip checks. Anything not covered — pick up the phone.

Will you stamp my logbook?

Yes. Mitch holds a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical, so MBC can perform manufacturer-specified servicing and stamp your logbook.

Is my new-vehicle warranty safe if MBC services my 4WD?

Yes. Under Australian Consumer Law you can have your vehicle serviced by any suitably qualified mechanic without voiding the manufacturer warranty, provided the service is done to the manufacturer’s schedule using fit-for-purpose parts and oils. MBC services to the logbook schedule and stamps the book accordingly. However, it is always best practice to check with the manufacturer or dealership first.

Do you service 200 Series, 79 Series, Ranger and Hilux?

Yes — those are some of the most popular vehicles in Australia and some of the most common vehicles we see through the workshop. 200 Series, 79 Series, Ranger, Hilux, Triton, D-Max, Patrol and similar 4WDs all sit firmly inside scope for routine servicing, logbook stamps and pre-trip inspections. Servicing a build Mitch already fitted is even better — same set of hands on the truck from day one.

What does a pre-trip 4WD inspection look like?

It’s a top-to-tail check before a serious trip. Fluids and filters, suspension under load, brakes, dual-battery charge state and wiring, winch operation, recovery gear condition, tyre tread and date codes, and a road test. Anything that needs sorting gets flagged with a quote — better to find it on the bench than 600km from anywhere.

Do you take walk-ins?

We do but it’s always best to phone ahead first. MBC runs out of a private workshop and operates one-on-one, so booked-in slots are the only way to keep the job list honest and the lead times realistic. Ring Mitch on 0428 945 552 or send a message through the contact page and you’ll get a time that suits.
